2023
This editorial project is centered on Japanese wooden architecture, featuring primarily architectural works by Kengo Kuma and Shigeru Ban.
The edition has a laser-engraved wooden cover and a Japanese binding, a traditional technique rooted in ancient bookbinding practices. The book is organized into five chapters, each consisting of either four or six pages, providing a structured yet dynamic exploration of this unique architectural style.

This booklet features a unique design with die-cut pages at the beginning of each chapter, creating an engaging play of solid and negative space with the title pages. This layered effect invites readers to transition through chapters with added depth.
The title pages display city names in Kanji, one of Japan’s traditional writing systems, arranged vertically to echo Japanese reading styles. Each title page also includes a label with key details about the architectural works featured in that chapter, guiding readers on an immersive journey through Japanese wooden architecture.
Adding cultural nuance, the pagination is presented in both Arabic numerals at the bottom of each page and corresponding Kanji numerals, seamlessly blending Japanese tradition with modern design elements.
